The -,- has a special meaning to the -display- command and it will always be treated as an operator instead of a decimal point.

The -set dp comma- is documented under -help format- because strictly designed to modify the output created by Stata and is not intended to affect how values are imputed into Stata.

Can you send me ([email protected]) a detailed log of the output you are receiving from xstata and stata when you are using the -set dp comma- command and getting odd results?
