Grant,
what does "does not seem to work" mean? Please give the exact error
message/problem that you occur upon typing -ssc install xtpmg-. Also,
try to install some other package from ssc, to see if you get the same
error (e.g. -catplot-).
The fault might lie with your internet/proxy settings in Stata, but we
are unable to tell without being told more details.
