An alternative is to use Notetab ( http://notetab.com ) with the
library of Stata macros (called clips in Notetab lingo) I have
provided at ( http://www3.ns.sympatico.ca/d.elliott/stata.clb ).
There are clips for writing ado files, running and doing dofiles or
parts of files, debugging, doing keyword searches, etc. I can provide
limited support for the library file in terms of questions, but most
can be handled by consulting the Notetab help itself.
