When a program is no longer being updated and the authors are nowhere
to be
found, would it be legit to add a note to that effect to its
description on
SSC, e.g. something like
"NOTE: This program has not been updated since 2002. Users may wish to
consider -estout- as an alternative."
I don't think I want to get into that kind of housekeeping, or to be
the arbiter of what appears to be a program long in the tooth. Many
early contributions to the SSC archive have not changed in years, but
are every bit as useful. HOWEVER if you did ssc describe outreg, you
would find that it has not been modified in some time. If you did ssc
describe estout, you would find that it is a recent invention.
