Our undergraduate course licenses are for professors teaching undergraduate courses only. Professors/instructors must be actively teaching an undergraduate course using Stata at an accredited degree-granting academic institution, and the course must issue credit toward a degree. Professors/instructors should register their course with us and provide proof they are actively teaching Stata.
Professors/instructors may submit proof of the course by providing a URL to the university webpage that describes the course, a course syllabus, or other proof of their undergraduate course to receive the license. Submit the information on our license request form or email [email protected] with additional documentation or questions.
The license is appropriate for teaching and undergraduate coursework. The license is not appropriate for graduate coursework, faculty/staff research, or commercial or government purposes, including commercial or government training programs.
Professors/instructors will receive an undergraduate course license, which is a Stata/BE classroom license with one key for multiple activations. The license will be large enough to cover the number of students in the course and will be valid for six months.
Upon registration and approval of your course, you will receive the undergraduate course license either 5–7 business days before the course begins as indicated by the form course start date, or you will receive the license within 1–2 business days of course approval, whichever comes first. You will receive the license activation key via email along with instructions to download the software from stata.com.
The Stata undergraduate course license provided free of charge from StataCorp is appropriate for use for undergraduate student coursework or for use by faculty for teaching. It is not appropriate for graduate coursework, for faculty/staff research, for nonacademic or noninstructional use, or for commercial or government purposes, including commercial or government training programs. Other restricted use may include, but is not limited to, administrative use, consulting, commercial research, institutional research, or other noneducational use.
By requesting and using the undergraduate course license, you agree that it will be used only for undergraduate coursework as described above. You also agree that any license issued will be provided only to students enrolled in the class as specified and not to any other students, faculty, staff, or other personnel.
