Anything is possible, but I'd first want to make sure I was running
the exact same problem on both machines, e.g. same data, same
program, same version of Stata. If it was running incredibly slow on
one machine, I wonder if the model converged. Could Stata be
corrupted on one of the machines? Do you have the same issues with
simpler problems that don't take so long to run?
If you are still convinced there are discrepancies, I would contact
Stata tech support. I doubt anybody on the list can help you unless
they have encountered the same problem; or, maybe you could provide a
replicable example to see if others can reproduce your results.

Dear Statalisters,
I have installed Stata in my mac and in a virtual machine of windows8
Last week the regression was taking a lot of time on windows so I
decide to see if things were faster in the Mac version. I was
shocked to see the results were different (I mean not only the
magnitude of the coefficients but the lvalues, therefore, the
interpretation using each version of outputs were completely different).
Can anyone give me a hand here?
