Hi everyone,
Thanks to Kit Baum, the -powersim- package is now available from the
SSC archive.
Type -ssc install powersim- to install it. The package also includes a little
tutorial as an ancillary file, type -net get powersim- to copy it into
your current directory.
Package description:
powersim exploits the flexibility of a simulation-based
approach to the analysis of statistical power by providing a
facility for automated power simulations in the context of linear
and generalized linear regression models. The package supports a
wide variety of uni- and multivariate covariate distributions and
all family and link choices that are implemented in Stata's glm
command (as of version 13). powersim simulates statistical power
with respect to a specified data generating model in a point null
hypothesis significance testing framework, but can also be used
for quickly generating synthetic datasets or for performing
simple Monte Carlo experiments in a regression context.
I have presented the package at the last Stata Conference in New
Orleans, slides are available here:

Comments and suggestions are welcome! Please use the email address
that is shown in -help powersim-.
