Dear Stata Users,
thanks to Kit Baum an updated version of -stnet- is available on the SSC
archive.
-stnet- is a command estimating net survival according to the method
proposed by Pohar Perme, Stare and Esteve.
The command uses a life table approach and may be particularly useful
for Cancer registries.
This new version uses a slightly different formula from the previous
version of -stnet-.
Thanks to the suggestion of Karri Seppa and Arun Pokhrel weigths used
for estimating net survival are now based on the inverse of the
individual cumulative expected survival computed at the mid-points of
the intervals of the life table.
In the previous version weights were based on the inverse of the
individual cumulative expected survival computed at the end of the
intervals of the life table.
Best wishes.
Enzo
