That is indeed very nice but it would be easier simply to type something like
ds, has(char scale=="KCCQ")
as suggested by another poster in that thread.
-search fiindfile- yields nothing. Assuming you meant -findfile-, that
is intriguing although unfortunately I fail to see the connection.
Following the breadcrumb of "SJ", a Google search for stata SJ
findfile directs us to "Stata tip 30: May the source be with you",
which is lovely but the link to variable characteristics is
mysterious.
