Thanks, David. -graph export- works well. I wasn't aware of this command
so I used -graph save- instead. Thanks once again.

Are you perhaps using -graph save- instead of -graph export-? In any
case,
it might help if you identified your operating system (e.g. Windows
Vista)
and showed us an example of your code that produces a nonfunctional .emf
file, such as
. twoway function y=x^2
. graph export graph1.emf
