-avplots- is only supported after -regress- and -anova-.
What is available to you by way of official commands is documented at -help areg postestimation-. There is quite a lot.
Also, at least some of the graphics commands in -modeldiag- should work too. That is user-written and documented at
SJ-10-1 gr0009_1 . . . . Software update for model diagnostic graph commands
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . N. J. Cox
(help anovaplot, indexplot, modeldiag, ofrtplot, ovfplot,
qfrplot, racplot, rdplot, regplot, rhetplot, rvfplot2,
rvlrplot, rvpplot2 if installed)
Q1/10 SJ 10(1):164
provides new command rbinplot for plotting means or medians
of residuals by bins; provides new options for smoothing
using restricted cubic splines; updates anova examples

and fitted values from regression models with continuous
responses

I have been requested to use areg in my regression due to large dummy variable (15 industry codes in a sample of 1100 firms) set however it seems I cannot use avplots after areg? and also some other graphs and tests are not available. Is there any other way of doing regression with industry codes and still being able to have all the post regression tests ?
