Hint: You have an "average" of 3.74 observations per pid.
The number of observations per person varies.

Hello Statlist Contributors!
I have a panel data on xlist which includes time variant and invariant
predictors. I need to know what causes my year vairable to show
between variations. My question is should or should not, the time
variable to show between variation in panel data. If not then how can
I interprete the following results.
Variable | Mean Std. Dev. Min Max | Observations
-----------------+--------------------------------------------+----------------
pid overall | 6.85e+07 4.74e+07 1.00e+07 1.89e+08 | N = 25173
between | 4.92e+07 1.00e+07 1.89e+08 | n = 6730
within | 0 6.85e+07 6.85e+07 | T-bar = 3.74042

year overall | 2004.614 2.541227 2001 2009 | N = 25173
between | 2.134371 2001 2009 | n = 6730
within | 1.99288 1999.364 2009.864 | T-bar = 3.74042

male overall | .4876256 .4998568 0 1 | N = 25173
between | .499941 0 1 | n = 6730
