Hello,
I would like to ask your help on how to use (different) sample weights when pooling three cross-sectional surveys (LSMS data). While wave 1 is self-weighting, wave 2 and 3 are not. In particular, in wave 2 sample weights are needed to correct for changes in population size within each cluster, while in wave 3 because disproportionately larger samples from regions with smaller populations were drawn.
The sample weights provided with the survey are different in wave 2 and 3. In wave 2 the average is 1 (range 0.13-6.02), and in wave 3 it is 608 (range 77-2326).
I am restricting the analysis to the rural sample.
Do you know how I should use sample weights when pooling surveys?
Many thanks in advance for your attention and help.
