I think the clause means nothing but that Stata Corp can make changes to its supporting team at any time. I think this is reasonable. I was even surprised that they put this in there. Personnel change is generally expected. Of course it could be interpreted in an evil way. Stata could simply drop everyone on the team and hire someone who only knows how to open the door to support us. We will have no say according to this clause. However, if Stata continues its existence; that would never happen. I would never give this a second thought.

When you installed Stata did you just tick "I agree"? The logic of the following implies I could ask Tech Support a question and find I'd sold my daughter into slavery(1) or agreed to donate a pound of flesh(2) to StataCorp ...

3.1. Technical Support. StataCorp agrees to provide Customer and its Concurrent Authorized Users with technical support services in accordance with StataCorp's Technical Support Terms, which are hereby incorporated by reference into this Agreement. StataCorp reserves the right to make changes to the technical support services offered by StataCorp and change the Technical Support Terms at any time, and StataCorp will post notice of the changes and the updated Technical Support Terms on the StataCorp web site. Customer's continued use of the technical support services after such changes have been posted means that *Customer agrees to the new Technical Support Terms, even if Customer has not reviewed the changes.*

Beware!
