Subject   st: Adjusting file associations so do-files open in editor?

I've just installed Stata11/IC on my new Windows 7 laptop and I have
not been able to associate standard .do files with the Stata editor,
it just runs the file in Stata.
This issue has come up before
http://www.stata.com/statalist/archive/2010-03/msg01561.html , but
neither of the solutions offered seem to work.

Method 1) Within Stata, chose Edit/Preferences/Restore File Associations
Outcome 1) Both .do files and .dta files become de-associated with Stata.

Method 2) Download http://defaultprogramseditor.com/ and use that to
altering default file associations, including adding the 'Edit'
function
Outcome 2) Because I want to use Stata's editor the only exicuitable
file available to me is Stata-64.exe which just runs the file in Stata
rather than the editor.

Any ideas would be much appreciated
Richard
