This is likely to arise from some problem with permissions: for example, you may be using Stata over a network and your command is in effect asking Stata to erase a file in a directory or folder for which you as user have no such permission. Possibly you need to ask someone with such permission to do this for you.

If this doesn't illuminate the problem, you may need to give more information about how the Stata you are using is installed. Doing that through Stata tech support may get you better answers faster.

When I run
hsearch, build
I get the following output

. hsearch, build
                unlink(): 3621 attempt to write read-only file
      hsearch_fopenidx():     -  function returned error
         hsearch_build():     -  function returned error
                 <istmt>:     -  function returned error
r(3621);

How do I fix that and force it to rebuild it's index
