Courtesy of Kit Baum, a new version of -dirtools- is available on the
SSC archive. Users of -dirtools- can install the update with
. adoupdate dirtools, update
New users of dirtools should use
. ssc install dirtools
instead.
The package -dirtools- is a kind of file-manager for the Stata results
window. The package contains:
-ldir-: a program that provides a list of folders in the working
directory. The folder names are presented as a list of click-able links
for making the folder the working directory. The program allows the
definition of bookmarks for direct access to frequently used
directories. If -ldir- finds typical Stata files (do-files, dta-files,
etc) in a directory, links for listing these files are also shown.
-ldo, -ldta-, -lsmcl-, -lgph- and -lall-: five programs returning lists
of Stata files in the current working directory. Along with
the file names a list of click-able links for doing typical tasks with
that files is provided.
-lado-: a program for ado developers that provide a list of ado files in
the current working directory or in a pre-defined developer directory.
Along with the names a list of click-able links for viewing, editing,
help and editing help files is provided.
-ltex-: a program that provides a list of LaTeX files in the working
directory. Along with the file names a list of click-able links for
viewing, editing and typesetting these files is provided. (Typesetting
might or might not work depending on your system)
-leps-: a program that provides a list of encapsulated postscript files
(.eps) files in the working directory. Along with the file names a list
of click-able links for viewing, printing and pdf-conversion is provided
(Might or might not work depending on your system.)
The update of -dirtools- contains the following changes to the version
already exited:
-ldir- now shows links for listing known file-types if they exist.
-ldir- now provides a link for listing ado files in the working
directory even if a developer directory has been set.
-ldir- did not return the folder list as saved result. This is fixed.
-lado- now allows to overwrite the developer directory predefined by the
user.
-lsmcl-, -lgph- , and -leps- did not work with option -erase-. This has
been fixed.
-leps- did not open the viewer for eps-files in the background under
Linux. This is fixed.
