Thanks for this reply. I should add that my analysis involves 200 separate meta-analyses, and I'm trying to get all those results into one tab-delimited file. It seems that using the -return list- command would still require me to cut and paste each list individually out of the results window, and into my spreadsheet. I'd like to avoid that! Though cutting and pasting out of the -return list- results is certainly better than cutting and pasting out of the raw results.
Thanks,
Megan

These results can be found following -return list-:
***********
use http://fmwww.bc.edu/repec/bocode/m/metan_example_data, clear
metan_examples metan_example_basic
di in r r(ES) " " r(ci_low) " " r(ci_upp) " " r(p_het) " " r(i_sq)
***********
What do you want -estout- to do to these results?

I want the pooled ES, with 95% CI and p-value and N, as well as I-squared
and its p-value.
Ideally, I'd also like the ES and 95% CI for each of the studies that I fed
into the meta analysis.
Thanks!

Which results do you want to -estout- (user-written by Ben Jann)?

I've had great success using the estout command to export my logistic and
linear regression results to tab-delimited files. However, I haven't been
able to figure out a way to export my meta-analysis results in a similar
fashion! I'm stuck cutting and pasting my metan results from the results
window into an Excel spreadsheet, which is tedious and invites errors. Does
anyone know a way to get metan results out of Stata and into a text file?
Thanks very much!
Megan
