Taggert Brooks <[email protected]> wrote in about having some trouble
with -slogit- under version control. In Stata 10 his model would not
converge whereas it did converge in Stata 11.
He sent me a do-file and dataset that represented the problem he was
experiencing. It turns out that, for Taggert's dataset, -slogit- is computing
better starting values in Stata 11 than in Stata 10.
-slogit- uses -mlogit- to compute starting values, so the better starting
values are due to improvements made to -mlogit- for Stata 11.
