st: package -funnelcompar- available on ssc

dear stata users,

thanks to kit baum, a new package called -funnelcompar- is available 
from SSC. the package was presented last week at the United Kingdom 
Stata Users' Group Meetings 2009

-funnelcompar- supports the use of funnel plots for institutional 
comparison, as suggested by david spiegelhalter. a scatter plot of an 
indicator values is plotted against a measure of their precision, 
tipically the sample size, together with a target line and control 
limits (contours), that narrow as the sample size gets bigger. the plot 
graphically tests whether each value of the indicator is extracted from 
a target distribution specified by the options.

-funnelcompar- is basically a Stata 8.2 package, even though the -exact- 
option requires Stata 10.0


finally, it might be appreciated by statalisters that the package was 
born from a statalist exchange last march
