Thanks to Kit Baum an update of the -propcnsreg- package is now
available from SSC. To install this update type in Stata
-ssc instal propcnsreg, replace-. propcnsreg combines
information from several observed variables into a single
latent variable and estimates the effect of this latent
variable on the depedent variable. The update allowed for a
new way of identifying the unit of this latent variable:
constraining the standard deviation of the latent variable to 1.
This is now the default identifying constraint. I will give a
presentation on this package (together with the -sheafcoef-
package) on Thursday at the UK Stata Users' Group meeting
(http://www.stata.com/meeting/uk09/).
