Thanks to Kit Baum, the package -njc_stuff- has been updated on SSC.
This is an idiosyncratic package consisting only of help files listing
Stata stuff of mine in the public domain. If interested, use -ssc- or
-adoupdate- to install or update, as the case may be.
If installed
. help njc_best_stuff
or in recent versions
. help njc best stuff
fires up a thematic list while
. help njc_stuff
or in recent versions
. help njc stuff
fires up a more complete list that can be searched. This includes
comments on what you should use instead if (I know that) something I
wrote has been superseded or made obsolete e.g. by later changes in
official Stata. (Not so long ago, there was some understandable
confusion about different versions and variants of -ds- for example.)
However, there can clearly be good reasons, like having no money, for
people being on old versions, so even stuff that is outdated compared
with Stata 11 may be of use, which is one good reason for letting it
stay wherever it is.
