" ssc should not decide for me whether the download i want makes sense in a 64 bit context"
Why is that, Mike? It wants to prevent disappointment because it senses that you won`t be able to use the plugin on this particular machine. Your argument with the manual movement does not wash, either, because this way the files will not be properly recognized as -ssc- files and not be updated via -adoupdate-. So it is much better to install them from the 32 bit system via -ssc install-

yes i do work on a 64 bit vista but it still should let me download, what if i want to move usespss files later manually to a 32 bit system? ssc should not decide for me whether the download i want makes sense in a 64 bit context :)
