Hi, All,
I had my data editor open with a filter applied when I dropped one of
the variables on which the filter was based. Stata then proceeded to
crash. You can replicate this by following the below steps:
sysuse auto
editor
* manually apply a filter for example foreign == 1 and return to the
command prompt without closing the data editor
drop foreign
The "Stata has stopped working" error message pops up. It would seem
like it would make more sense for Stata to check if the variable is
being used as a filter and prevent it from being dropped in the first
place or removing the filter first and then dropping.
Sorry if this is a known issue.
Thanks!
Allan
