Dear all,

I would like to decompose total variance into cluster effect
and idiosyncratic effect in cross-sectional setting. In a
sense, this is analog to random effect modelling.

I can't utilize the xtreg command in STATA since the command
is only applicable to panel setting. If anyone know an
efficient way to handle this, much appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Susan
