There's been work by Len Stefanski published recently in The American
Statistician about embedding images in regression diagnostic plots
(http://www.citeulike.org/user/ctacmo/article/3934893,
http://www4.stat.ncsu.edu/~stefanski/NSF_Supported/Hidden_Images/stat_res_plots.html).
He did that to congratulate his students on finding the true model in
stepwise regression, as well as to thank the NSF for big $$ :)). Those
are 0/1 dots though, so only the text and simple images go OK with
that.
