I have a question regarding the mlogit command for multinomial logistic regression.
say I run a command:
mlogit rep78 mpg make
Then I use the command listcoef
When I compare the beta coefficients from listcoef for each of the comparisons, they do not match the coefficients from the mlogit command!
If I change the base outcome to the right value, then the coefficients match. Otherwise, it does not match.
I do not understand. I also went through the examples provided by Freese et al. and I see that the coefficients from listcoef are supposed to match the corresponding comparisons from mlogit.
Any theories why? Thank you.
