Thanks as usual to Kit Baum, the following packages on SSC have been
updated. Use -ssc- to install or replace if interested.
njc_stuff
This consists of two help files with lists of my programs (and some
other stuff) in the public domain. It may be useful if, for example, you
have a dim recollection that I wrote something relevant but can't
remember the program name, or come across something of mine and wonder
if there is anything similar or more up-to-date. The last public update
was several months ago. I've not only added the most recent creations,
but also updated the evaluations: a few things look more useful and a
few things look less useful given the kinds of questions people ask,
other developments in Stata, shifts in my own interests, etc. The help
files (although by no means all the programs) should work in Stata 7 up
(although I no longer have the means to check).
domdiag
This produces an unusual graph that can be useful to understand
graphically what -ranksum- is doing. I've updated the graphics to Stata
8.
There is an accessible example in
Roger Newson. 2002. Parameters behind "nonparametric" statistics:
Kendall's tau, Somers' D and median differences. Stata Journal 2: 45-64.

-- and that reference deserves to be added to the next version of the
help.
multencode
This was first announced only yesterday, but on further browsing of the
Mata manual I saw a much better way to proceed, so the code has been
revised. Stata 9 is required.
