-ssc d rsource- is there for a reason. We do occasionally get threads where
people want to run R from within Stata, i.e. they view the two as
complimentary. There is even a contribution to a UGM where R is used just to
interface to a third program

Subject: st: NYTimes article about R
Hi Folks,
Just a heads up: in today's Times, there is an article about R.
http://www.nytimes.com/2009/01/07/technology/business-computing/07program.html?partner=rss&emc=rss
SAS is given specific mention, but not Stata.
I did a search of the archives for a thread comparing R and Stata, and
I didn't turn up much. I wonder if this article is a good occasion
for us to list all the pros of Stata over R. =)
