Subject: st: standard deviation

Hi everyone,

my data set is panel data .

I would like to compute standard deviation of one of my variable by industry
and by country at each time. How can i compute it?

the data example is as followed
country	ind code	panelid	period	icc1m	ICC1
1	870110	8701101	1988	-.2631029	-.2163667
9	870110	8701109	1988	-.2631029
5	870110	8701105	1988	-.2631029	.0071606
6	870110	8701106	1988	-.2631029	-.5801026
4	870110	8701104	1989	-.0319269
8	870110	8701108	1989	-.0319269	.0961042
7	870110	8701107	1989	-.0319269	-1.297983
5	870110	8701105	1989	-.0319269	.6752883
6	870110	8701106	1989	-.0319269	.3688307

I would like to compute standard deviation of ICC1 variable at each period
by industry. I will use the standard deviation as my new time series
variable for each industry.

so, i should get standard deviation of ICC1 of 1988, 1989,.... from
industry 870110 and
industry 870111 and so on.

thank you for your help,
somsupa
