Making xi3 official and supported would be a good start. Better would
be to have capability matching the R factor and ordered factor
features. In R you simply designate a variable to be treated as a
factor, set contrast type, and away you go.<<<
Totally agree! This would be of great help both in research and,
especially, teaching. It would remove one of the big "why do I have to
dummy code everything?" whinges that students reared on SPSS have.
