st: re: problem with do files
Paul reports
Peculiar problem with profile.do and other .do programs. (I'm running
Stata SE, version 10, currently updated to July 25, 2007 on windows).
When automatically submitted, the profile.do file does not appear to run
the last line of the program unless there is a carriage return after the
last line. When the program is manually executed (from the editor), the
last line is executed.
I also tried this with regular .do program. If the .do file is executed
from the command window, it won't run the last line unless there is a
carriage return.
Can anyone replicate this?
Yes, it is very easy to do so. It even happens when you do not put a
CR on the last line in the do-file editor and hit the 'run' icon. It
has always worked this way. Annoying at times, but this is not new
behavior with Stata 10.
