Various recent threads have started from
questions already answered, at least in
part, in the Stata Tips which are published
in each issue of the Stata Journal.

Danielle Ferry asked a question about rounding,
which Rodrigo Alfaro, Austin Nichols, Friedrich
Huebler and Steven Samuels answered in terms
of precision and formats.

Danielle would find some enlightenment on
such matters in the Tip

"Sweet sixteen: Hexadecimal formats and precision problems"

published in Stata Journal 6(2): 282--283 (2006).

Joe Trubisz asked a question about filling in gaps
answered by Michael Blasnik in terms of -fillin-.

Joe would find some enlightenment on
such matters in the Tips

"Filling in the gaps"

"For all times and all places"

published in

Stata Journal 5(1): 135--136 (2005) and SJ 6(1):147--148 (2006).

Suryadipta Roy asked a question on joining datasets
answered by Steven Samuels, Scott Cunningham and
Richard Williams in terms of -merge- and -cross-.

Suryadipta would find some enlightenment in the Tip
last mentioned above.

If you do not have access to the Stata Journal, there is
an easy solution. The first 33 Tips were reprinted in
a little book available for USD 10. See

http://www.stata.com/bookstore/tips.html

for details, including a listing of the 33 titles.

Tips continue in the Stata Journal. The next issue,
Stata Journal 7(2), includes Tips 44-47.
