st: Execution Speed in Stata 9 vs. Stata 8

I'm wondering whether Stata 9 is faster at executing non-graphics
commands (especially time-consuming ml d0 or d1 routines) than Stata 8
is.  I didn't see any specific claim about this on Stata's website,
only a table of Stata's execution speed using various Pentium chips.
