Sorry I wasn't clear on this. I did install the hotfix, but did not
try going back to SP1 because I feared other consequences to my work
environment. Before the hotfix I got about 900m out of XP; after I got
1197m (maximum).
I'd like to look forward to Vista solving my problems, but fear yet another
MS operating system; instead, I think I'll be investing in a separate
machine with Linux.
