Thanks to Kit Baum, a small futility -sdline-
has been posted on SSC. This was promised by
me on Statalist on 23 August in response to a posting by
Joseph Coveney in a thread on least products regression.
Thanks to Joseph for the stimulus to make this public
after long years in a dark and dusty place.
-sdline- plots the SD line or reduced major axis
(there are many other names, as the thread name indicates)
on a scatter plot of two variables. Key numeric quantities can be
picked up afterwards as r class scalars.
Stata 8 is required. Use -ssc- to install if interested.
