Hello All. I have 2 queries about symbol sizes and line thicknesses in
Stata 9 graphs:
1. In -[G] relativesize-, it is stated that relative sizes are relative
to the minimum of the height and the width of the graph (or subgraph)
being drawn. In the terminology of -[G] region_options-, do the "height"
and "width" belong to the outer graph region, the inner graph region,
the outer plot region, the inner plot region, or some other region? (I
notice that the symbol sizes get smaller if I specify the -by()-
option.)
2. Is there any stable and/or formal definition of the alternative sizes
-vtiny- to -extrahuge- (mentioned in -[G] markersizestyle-) and -vvthin-
to -vvvthick- (mentioned in -g(linewidthstyle)-), in terms of the
-relativesize- scale or otherwise?
I ask because I would like to choose marker sizes and line thicknesses
more intelligently than by trial and error (which can be
time-consuming), possibly using schemes. I am using Stata 9.2 under
Windows/XP.
