I have problems with a large dataset using intercooled sata 8.2 under
windows 2000. The size of the dataset is 1gb. My RAM is 520 MB and my
virtual memory is set on 1.5 g.
So it shoudn`t be a problem to load the data. But i can`t set memory
bigger than 1g.the error message is : op. sys. refuses to provide memory

can somebody answer, why stata doesn`t use the virtual memory?
