Thanks to Kit Baum, -tabstatmat- has been
revised on SSC. -tabstatmat- requires
Stata 8. It is a small utility to follow
the official Stata command -tabstat-.
Lucy Chung pointed out that -tabstatmat-
was broken by a change in -tabstat- in
Stata 9. While the problem could be solved
by expecting users to go
version 8 : tabstat <whatever>
tabstatmat
it has now been fixed within -tabstatmat-.
While it is nice if people find this useful,
the help file for -tabstatmat- now also
draws attention to the user-written -statsmat-
as an alternative.
-tabstat- is a very useful tabulation program,
but the way it leaves results behind on
request in possibly lots of little matrices
does not appear optimal for users interested
for some reason in producing results matrices.
-statsmat- is designed for exactly that purpose,
and so may well be preferable.
