Thanks to Kit Baum, an new routine -dbmscopybatch- is available on the SSC
archive.
dbmscopybatch is a routine to create a log (also called batch) file to be used
by DBMS Copy.
If a user has a lot of datasets to convert, say from SPSS to Stata, using DBMS
Copy interactivelly could be time consuming and painful. dbmscopybatch
facilitates the job by creating quickly a batch file which could be run under
DBMS Copy. A call option is available for Windows operating system to call DBMS
Copy from stata's command line. dbmscopybatch is also flexible to incorpore in
the batch file, additionnal (intermediate) commands like generating new
variables, selecting variables or observations, reshaping, etc., before final
output. The syntax of these additionnal commands must match those of DBMS Copy
(see DBMS various manuals).
To install, type:
ssc install dbmscopybatch
