Subject: st: regressions with panel data...

I am new to STATA and I was wondering if you can help me with some doubts I have.
1.- is there any particular command to let STATA know that the regression I am running is using a panel data set?
2.- is there any way STATA can deal with issues of ‘unbalanced’ panel data sets?
3.- can I have STATA pick some variables so that I can use a panel data set for only one year thereby eliminating the ‘time’ dimension without the need to build a parallel data set?

Thanks,

Jonathan
