I misspoke in one of my prior postings: both 'ssc whatsnew' within
Stata and the web page provide information as to whether a SSC routine
is new (Created) or updated (Revised). It is true that 'ssc describe'
does not provide this information, nor does it indicate version of
Stata needed (unless that has been provided in the 'abstract'). However
a couple of posters today made the quite apt point that very little
work is being done in the Stata user community on pre-version 8 code.
