In short, there's more than one way to do it,
so persevere until you find one.
I have a feeling that if Nick or I were sitting next to Kate we could
figure this out in a minute (although I've been wrong before). I assume
Kate has, at some point, saved a word or excel or whatever file while
working on a public machine, and wherever she saved it must be a place she
has write access to. At ND, it would be the H: drive. Kate's place must
have something comparable, unless everybody just always carries floppy
disks around with them. Once Kate knows what she has write access to it is
a simple matter to tell Stata to look for her downloaded ado files there.
