I don't think there is anything public.
The 1984 Stata User's Guide had the following main entries:
#delimit
#review
append
beep
by:
capture
confirm
convert [Professional version]
correlate
count
describe
dir
discard [eliminated information from regress]
display
do
drop
erase
exit
expand
format
generate
help
... if
... in
infile
input
label
list
macro
merge
modify
more
outfile
plot [typewriter graphics]
query
regress
rename
replace
run
save
set
sort
spool [log]
summarize
tabulate
test
type
use
Evidently, it covered most of the useful statistics one really needs,
and was small enough that all but the very lazy could learn
it all, and never have puzzles about what syntax to use.
Thus if this were to be reissued as Stata Classic in 2004,
it would be massively popular...
