Dear Statalist,

I am trying to graph a multiple time series plot. I keep getting the
following error message

. graph RBanadesa year, connect(L)
RBanadesagraph_g.new year, connect(L): class member function not found

RBanadesa is not a valid graph subcommand

What am I doing wrong?
Evidently, you are using Stata 8 and inputting Stata 7 graph commands. You can do one of 2 things:

1. You can use the old Stata 7 graph command, available as -graph7-, as in

graph7 RBanadesa year, connect(L)

2. You can upgrade to the Stata 8 graph command, as in

graph twoway scatter RBanadesa year,connect(L)

which will probably give you better graphics.

If you are in a frantic hurry to make a deadline later today, option 1 might be best. However, Stata 8 graphics are a lot better than Stata 7 graphics once you learn how to use them.
