Stata Journal readership continues to rise
The Stata Journal is a quarterly peer-reviewed publication that provides readers across the world with access to articles on statistics and data science, effective Stata use, community-contributed software, and teaching methods. Highly regarded by the scientific community, the Stata Journal continues to increase in both readership and rankings.
We greatly value the contributions of authors who publish in the Stata Journal and strive to share their work with more of the Stata community. At the beginning of last year, StataCorp partnered with SAGE Publishing. Through this partnership, the Stata Journal is now more widely available to researchers because of institutional access with universities, libraries, and employers.
We are excited to see that Stata Journal readership is dramatically increasing. In the first half of 2020 alone, there were 333,512 full-text downloads, a 233% increase over the same time period in 2019. The numbers of institutional and individual subscriptions have also grown, and we are reaching more researchers in developing countries.
Moreover, the Journal's impact factor and five-year impact factor have also grown. This is a reflection of the breadth in the content—with articles discussing graphics, data management, statistics, reporting, and many other topics—and of the range of disciplines represented. You can get a sense of the variety from our current issue.
We here at StataCorp are proud to support researchers globally. Take a look at the Stata Journal, and see how it can support your research. You can find out whether your institution has access to the Stata Journal at journals.sagepub.com. If your institution doesn't subscribe, individual subscriptions are also available.
