
The 15th Spanish Stata Conference will take place on 22 May at the Universidad Pablo de Olavide. There will also be optional specialized training courses on 21 May.
The objective of this meeting is to provide Stata users with the opportunity to share ideas, experiences, and new applications of the software. Take the opportunity to connect with other professionals in a unique environment. Discover the history and culture of Seville, stroll through its streets, and enjoy its exquisite cuisine. Everyone with an interest in Stata is welcome. The conference will be in a bilingual format, and presentations will be accepted in both English and Spanish.

If you would like to submit an abstract, please indicate whether you wish to be considered for a 10-minute or 20-minute presentation (both to be followed by 5 minutes for questions). In addition, if your presentation has multiple authors, please identify the presenter, for whom the conference registration fee will be waived.
The deadline for submissions is 21 March 2025.
If your presentation is selected, you must submit the final version in PowerPoint or PDF to the scientific committee before 15 May 2025.
21 May from 11:00–2:00
Focuses on advanced techniques for data handling in Stata, including reading different file formats, structuring and organizing databases, and efficiently performing data manipulation and merging operations. Basic knowledge of Stata required.
21 May from 4:00–7:00
Explores Stata's visual tools to create attractive and effective graphs. You will learn to use graphical commands to be able to present your data clearly and convincingly. Basic knowledge of Stata required.
21 May from 11:00–2:00
Introduces the basic concepts of machine learning in Stata, focusing on inference models. You will learn to apply machine learning techniques to analyze and understand patterns in your data. Medium/Advanced knowledge of Stata required.
21 May from 4:00–7:00
Delves into the use of prediction and classification models in Stata. You will learn to build models that allow you to predict future outcomes and classify data accurately. Medium/Advanced knowledge of Stata required.
Jeff Pitblado
Jeff Pitblado is Executive Director, Statistical Software at StataCorp LLC. Jeff has been developing Stata since 2001. Jeff's most notable contributions to Stata include prefix commands svy, bootstrap, fmm, jackknife, nestreg, permute, simulate, and statsby, as well as features like maximum likelihood estimation, factor variables, predictive margins and marginal effects, structural equations models, multilevel mixed-effects models, finite mixture models, latent class models, item response theory models, and something else he forgot about. Jeff has a PhD in statistics from Southern Methodist University.
Gustavo Sánchez
Gustavo Sánchez is a Senior Econometrician and Director of the Technical Services department at StataCorp LLC. He has a master's degree in econometrics from Southampton University, UK, and he got his PhD in agricultural economics at Texas A&M University. Gustavo worked at the Central Bank of Venezuela, and he was a professor of econometrics at the Universidad Central de Venezuela.
All participants are responsible for their own travel and accommodation expenses. The registration fee covers the conference, breaks, and lunch.
