The profile.do file belongs in the same directory or folder as your executable. By the way, I think you need a really good reason to -set type double-. There has been much discussion of this, e.g.. a long thread starting at http://www.stata.com/statalist/archive/2011-02/msg00943.html A profile.do file could also include setting up your favourite graph scheme and settings for -netio-.
