Thanks to Kit Baum a new package, -oparallel-, is now available from
SSC. To install -oparallel, type in Stata: -ssc install oparallel-.
oparallel is a post-estimation command testing the parallel regression
assumption in a ordered logit model (-ologit-). By default it performs
five tests: a likelihood ratio test, a score test, a Wald test, a
Wolfe-Gould test, and a Brant test. These tests compare a ordered
logit model with the fully generalized ordered logit model, which
relaxes the parallel regression assumption on all explanatory
variables. Optionally, oparallel can use the bootstrap to compute the
p-values for these tests.
Some examples of this program in use can be found here:
http://www.maartenbuis.nl/software/oparallel.html . Richard Williams
and I discussed these tests in a talk at the last German Stata Users'
meeting. The slides from that presentation can be downloaded here:
http://ideas.repec.org/p/boc/dsug13/06.html .
I hope some of you will find it useful,
Maarten
