Hi there,

I'd like to check and see if SPSS 21 can read in Stata 13 files. Are
there any Stata 13 files posted on the Stata website that I can
download and use to check this?

Hi Erika:

I can give you the answer (we have 25 SPSS 21 licenses and 100 Stata 12 licenses at the University)

SPSS 21 is unable to read Stata 12 (yes, 12, not 13) files, therefore, I don't think it will be able to read Stata 13 files either.

This is the answer I got right now trying to read a Stata 12 file with SPSS 21:

GET STATA FILE='G:\BiostatisticsDatasets\ANOVA1Criterio.dta'.
 >Error # 7202. Command name: GET STATA
>Input dictionary read error.
>Execution of this command stops.
Your new version of Stata is not supported

Whenever I want/need to read Stata files into SPSS, I have to use -saveold- to save them as Stata 10, the only version SPSS (from 15 to 21) recognizes.
